DURNESS TO DINGWALL, 100 MILE CYCLE CHALLENGE

 

The second Durness to Dingwall Cycle Challenge took place on Saturday 17th May 2008 in almost perfect conditions with a ‘little’ headwind. The fastest time was 5hrs 28mins 25 secs by Paul Garner some 13mins faster than 2007. The very fit and not too saddle sore cyclists who took part in the event were Paul Garner (who originally suggested this event), Alistair Ferns, Steve Robertson, David MacMillan, Alan Paterson, Donnie MacLeod, , Donnie MacKenzie, Jamie Carcary, Michael Devany Nino Meehan and Forbes McFall.

Average Time 6hrs 4 mins 49.3 secs

1st place S Knight Inverness 6hrs 5 mins

2nd place K Marshall Tain

3rd place J Murray Banchory

4th place A Massey Fortrose

 

Very many thanks to all those who took part, to Fortrose Academy and Alison Stewart for the use of their mini bus and bike carrier, the Overscaig Hotel for a well needed tea and home baking and all those who donated.
