DURNESS TO DINGWALL, 100 MILE CYCLE CHALLENGE

The cycle

Experienced cyclists set off from Durness in the North West corner of Scotland and cycle south and east to Dingwall, a distance of approximately 100 miles. The route starts at sea level and goes via Laxford Bridge, Lairg, Bonar Bridge, The Struie and Evanton. The highest point on the cycle is 240 metres at the top of the Struie, which is reached after 80 miles of cycling!

Entering the competition

Decide how long you think it will take to complete the cycle (excluding stops) and write down your estimated time to the nearest second. The winners will be those who are closest to guessing the average time all the cyclists take to complete the cycle ride. Depending on weather and road conditions it is expected that without stops the journey time should take roughly around 5 to 7 hours. In the event of a tie names will be drawn out of a hat.
